As a writer and editor on the editorial staff of regional and national magazines and in the communications and stewardship offices of Middlebury College, I have worked on all types communications—multimedia, social media, and traditional and innovative approaches to storytelling and marketing.
Every project has unique needs. I work with you to reach your goals.
Preliminaries: We will discuss your project and the type of help you are seeking. I will take a look at your needs and materials, give you my opinion about the amount of work required, and we can develop a plan together.
Medium: The medium your project will appear in matters: website, blog, email, print piece, multimedia presentation, etc. If you have a designer involved in the project, I will be happy to work with them to make the text fit with their design.
Writing: If your project has become immobilized because parts of it need to be written, I can help. Having someone create a new draft can unlock ideas and energy that help you move forward.
Taming: Scholars and others with deep knowledge of a subject often benefit from an editor’s touch, especially when writing for an audience without a correlating background. Complicated text can often be simplified without losing context and meaning.
Fees: After we have discussed your project and needs by phone or email, I will provide a time estimate or flat-fee quote, based on an hourly rate, to be discussed. One revision is included in the fee. Any subsequent revisions would require additional charges.
